Where else to start in a list of songs with New York in the title than this classic Frank Sinatra hit. The first time this song hit the UK charts was in the Autumn of 1980 when it climbed to a rather disappointing number 59. It was re-released in the UK in early 1986 and hit a peak of number 4, staying on the charts for 7 weeks.

2. Sting – Englishman in New York

Much like the Frank Sinatra song New York, New York, this Sting song struggled on initial release, only reaching a peak of number 51 in the UK charts in 1988. It was re-released two years later and managed to rise up to a peak of number 15, staying in the UK charts for a total of five weeks.

3. Hello – New York Groove

The band Hello first hit the UK charts with the number 6 hit Tell Him in November 1974. This song here was their follow up single and reached a peak of number 9. They failed to have another hit in the UK until 2007 when they hit number 4 in the UK charts with Here (In Your Arms).

4. Bee Gees – New York Mining Disaster 1941
